Every year, in the spring, my husband, Jeff, and I, along with our fur children, jump in the camper and head downhill in search of the plants I’ll be infusing into your soaps, lotions, and skincare… and a much-needed re-wilding.
Our spring adventures are a very special time for Jeff and me to unplug, rest, and reconnect to the wild world. We turn off our phones, take a deep breath, and settle into peaceful, contemplative quiet along rushing creeks, blooming forests, and fresh green meadows just starting to come to life with the promise of spring.
Our adventures usually don’t take us very far! Most years, we go downhill a bit, but we are still in the mountains of Colorado. That is where the plants I use are starting to bloom. Here in Crested Butte, we have to wait a wee bit longer (June!) for the plants to be ready to start harvesting. Occasionally, we go further for longer. This year, we’re cruising all the way to Oregon at the end of April and will return home the first week of June.
