Here in the high country of Colorado I meet people out on the trail all the time who are not getting good results with whatever it is they are using. Often, they’re scratching multiple bug bites and swatting away aggressive black flies and swarms of mosquitos.

I like to help people, so I whip out my Bug Ban and spritz my new friends, and we watch as those biting buggers run for the hills!

I make Bug Ban with just about every essential oil known to keep biting bugs away. (Scroll down for the list)

The base of the formula is Eucalyptus hydrosol water to which I add a little liquid coconut oil and a dash of vegetable glycerin to nourish, condition and help keep skin hydrated.

Vanilla is my secret ingredient - not only does it have bug repelling properties, but just about everyone loves the aroma of vanilla. The number one comment I receive from those who visit my boutique and take a whiff of my Bug Ban? THIS SMELLS NICE!

Ingredients:

*Eucalyptus Hydrosol water │ *Fractionated Coconut oil │ *†Kosher Vegetable Glycerin │ ØPolysorbate 20 │ §ØNeoDefend™ (Gluconolactone, Sodium Benzoate) │ *Vanilla extract, *Neem oil │ Essential Oils.

*Organic,  †Naturally Derived, ØECOCERT, §biodegradable preservative. PRESERVED WITH ECOCERT NeoDefend. Preserves against bacteria, yeast, and fungi. It is naturally derived from from non-gmo corn, and food grade sodium benzoate. 100% biodegradable - Vegan.

Essential Oils: 

Lemon Eucalyptus, Eucalyptus, Cedarwood, Lemongrass, Citronella, Lavender, Citrus, Tea Tree, Catnip, Vanilla, Neem.

COVER UP!

Bugs have a much harder time biting you through a layer of clothing - long sleeves and pants are the most effective protection against potentially dangerous bites and stings, as well as rashes and sun damage! ESPECIALLY FOR YOUNG KIDS AND BABIES.  

SMALL CHILDREN/BABIES: 

• DO NOT SPRAY DIRECTLY ON SKIN! SPRAY CLOTHING.

• Use discretion and try to keep skin covered as much as possible as the first line of defense.

SAFE FOR DOGS:

• Works well for repelling ticks on dogs.

• CAREFUL NOT TO GET IN YOUR DOGGIE’S EYES. For faces, they prefer you spray Bug Ban into your hand, then rub it on.  

ADULTS and GROWN CHILDREN:

• Spray exposed skin and clothing often, especially when sitting or standing still.

• When hiking, spray generously as soon as you stop to rest.

Special Considerations:

• People sometimes ask if it can stain clothing - the short answer is YES it can if you spray directly onto fabric at close range! I find that if you spray a cloud of Bug Ban into the air and then walk through the cloud it doesn’t stain clothing. That said, I wouldn’t spray it on my wedding dress!

• Not everyone will get good results. If nothing seems to work for you, my Bug Ban might not either but if you’re seeking a natural alternative then Bug Ban is definitely worth a try! It’s effective for others who report “nothing works!” so go ahead, please try it and if you don't get acceptable results - give it someone who does, and I'll refund you!
