Alpenfleur Facial Oil: Rose Petal + CoQ10
Alpenfleur Facial Oil: Rose Petal + CoQ10
A luxurious, yet surprisingly lightweight artisan facial oil to nourish skin and support healthy aging.
I create Alpenfleur in tiny batches to ensure freshness by infusing organic, raw, cold pressed, fruit berry and seed oils with allantoin rich Plantago Major leaves and fresh wild mountain rose petals.
Lovely for all skin types and unlikely to clog pores, making it extra awesome for acne prone skin and to support mature skin. Seals in dermal moisture, supports skin health and helps to restore naturally glowing, strong resilient skin.
Enhanced with Helichrysum essential oil, aka “the Great Healer”, 3 different Frankincense essential oils and a hint of Neroli. Plus the antioxidant CoQ10.
The aroma appeals to men and women, and is an excellent compliment to my Dew Drops lotion.

I create my Alpenfleur facial oils by first infusing organic oils with wild mountain rose petals and bright green leaves from the medicinal Plantain herb (AKA Plantago Major).
Rose petals have been incorporated into skin care for thousands of years to beautify and soften our skin.
Plantgo is rich in Allantoin. Allantoin is known to improve collagen synthesis, helping to strengthen the skin barrier.
CoQ10 is an oil soluble antioxidant, with properties similar to Vitamin C.
Once the oil is infused with the living quintessence of the fresh petals and leaves, I triple filter it, blend in other fixed plant oils, and enhance it with CoQ10 antioxidant and therapeutic grade essential oils:
Frankincense Boswellia Serrata
Frankincense Carter
Frankincense Frereana
Helichrysum Italicum
Neroli
HOW TO ENJOY FACIAL OILS:
Enjoy morning or night.
This blend of oils is lightweight and absorbs quickly all on it’s own but will absorbs even better when applied to slightly damp skin and/or blended with a lightweight lotion. This approach makes it especially awesome for morning application prior to applying sunscreen and/or makeup.
Note: Seed oils are comprised of relatively large molecules - too large to penetrate deeply. Water, on the other hand is able to penetrate much deeper (or water like ingredients such as aloe and plant hydrosols). Lotions and creams have a water component. This is what makes them hydrating moisturizers! Scroll down for more details.
FOR BEST RESULTS:
You’ll find you get faster, better absorption and desired results with this approach:
Put a little bit of your favorite facial lotion or cream in the palm of your hand.
Dispense a few drops of oil into the lotion and blend well with your finger tip.
Now gently massage this into DAMP skin. This technique increases dermal moisture and improve absorption.
One way to dampen your skin, and the way I recommend, is to spritz with my rose hydrosol toner for dampness after you’ve pat dry.
Of course, you can just moisten your skin with tap water but the plant hydrosol brings hundreds of plant compounds which impart additional benefits.
Note: Oils create a waterproof barrier so blending them with water, cream or lotion offers the best absorption. But, if you layer your products always apply facial oils last, after lotions. creams or serums.
What do “oils” do for our hair and skin? A brief but very important introduction ….
Despite that we read over and over again that “oils are moisturizing (aka hydrating)” - they are not! And this is very important! Because only water (or water like substances like aloe juice) can moisten (aka hydrate) your skin!
Oils contain no moisture (no water) so they can not hydrate anything: think of it, water and oil are two very different things.
Oils provide a lot of other benefits though!
Oils can improve your skin texture and tone, and they provide a moisturizing effect by SEALING IN MOISTURE ALREADY PRESENT IN YOUR SKIN (dermal moisture). We increase dermal moisture when we bath and wash. Skin and hair absorb water easily. Oils seal it in!
In addition to sealing in dermal moisture, oils also soften, condition and improve the texture of hair and skin, and provide nourishment to skin cells.
No matter how much, or how often, you apply pure oils (or a seed butter such as coconut oil) to parched, tight dehydrated skin (what we call dry skin) your skin is not being moisturized (aka hydrated). And this can spell real trouble! No kidding!
Confused? I bet you are! We see and hear this misinformation all the time, even from experts! But it is WRONG and can lead you to make really bad skin care decisions!
It’s so important to know this … Delve deeper into this misunderstood ingredient. I promise you it WILL help you decide what your skin (and hair) REALLY needs and when.
Are Seed Oils (and seed butters) Moisturizing?
These are handmade, small batch, artisanal products. Minor variation from batch to batch can be expected. Handle with care; keep the lid on and avoid contamination with water. If you are unhappy with your product for any reason please contact me directly.
