Rose+Rose Facial Oils + 3% Vitamin C

$37.00

I craft my ROSE + ROSE FACIAL OILS with rose petals and ripe rose hips I collect from the wild forest. I infuse them into deeply penetrating, skin loving oils enhanced with oil soluble Vitamin C.

There is only ONE stable, non-oxidizing, Vitamin C - Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate. Not all vitamin C we find in our skin care is created equal! Other forms of vitamin C undergo rapid oxidation, causing free radical production on the skin’s surface - a well studied disease causing agent. Buyer Beware! Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate stimulate collagen production, clarify and brighten skin by inhibiting melanogenesis and promotes a more even skin tone, inhibits free radical formation, and helps protect from UV exposure.

1 ounce glass bottle.

EXCELLENT FOR ALL SKIN TYPES (extra awesome for mature, acne prone and sensitive skin). VIRGIN + ORGANIC + UNREFINED + COLD PRESSED OILS + WILDCRAFTED ROSE PETALS & ROSE HIPS + ESSENTIAL OILS.

I created this blend to help promote skin repair, provide healing and protective properties, reduce scar formation, protect from sun damage, improve the appearance of fine lines, clarify, brighten and even skin tone.

By stimulating collagen production and enhancing protection for cells against melanogenesis (the production of pigment), with daily use and proper application technique, over time, you should notice improvement in the appearance of your skin and a healthy, natural glow.

Vitamin C, Vitamin E and Rosemary Leaf Extract are powerful antioxidants. Inhibiting free radical formation and helping protect from UV exposure by providing free radical protection from heat, light, and exposure to air for the delicate Rosehip seed oil. At the same time, protecting your skin by hindering the oxidation process, neutralizing or scavenging free radicals before they ravage your skin.

Rosehip Seed Oil

Rose hip seed oil has been the subject of much scientific research noting its ability to reduce the appearance of sun damage, fine lines and scars.

A major study was done on people with noticeably damaged skin: deep wrinkles and other premature aging, UV damage, radiation damage, acne scarring, burn scarring, dermatitis, etc. Rosehip seed oil showed significant, noticeable reduction in the appearance of wrinkles and scars, and helped the skin to regain its natural color and tone.

  • won’t clog pores

  • non-irritating

  • bio-available

  • anti-oxidant

  • supports collagen production

  • helps minimize the effects of environmental aging.

  • promotes a luminous skin tone.

I gather the rose petals from the mountains in the summer and infuse them fresh into nourishing sweet almond oil. Later, in the fall, I go back and collect the Rose hips, I crush them to extract the oil from the seed and the fruit then infuse them into the Rose Petal oil. This is then blended with additional oils and rose & geranium essential oils.

I create this blend of facial oils in micro batches with exceptionally fresh, organic virgin, cold pressed oils to which I add oil soluble, stable vitamin C, Vitamin E and Rosemary Leaf Extract. Every base oil I purchase from my supplier includes vital information I need including a full chemical analysis, place and date of origin.

Free radicals both cause and contribute to premature ageing and age-related conditions of the skin including cancer. Free radical production happens right on the surface of our skin when it is exposed to damaging UV rays. Free radicals cause your own skin oils to produce more free radicals causing more damage by destroying collagen. Collagen is the building blocks of our skin.

VITAMIN C IN SKINCARE:

  • There are any different forms of vitamin C used in skincare, leading to much confusion, even among experts.

  • Is there a “best” vitamin C?

  • Why are we using it in the first place?

Ascorbic Acid is one form of vitamin C commonly found in skin care. It also happens to be extremely fragile with troubling reactive tendencies due in part to a rapid breakdown in the presence of oxygen, creating disease-causing “oxidized lipid metabolites” compounds that are highly toxic to skin cells. It has the potential to make our skin much more vulnerable to the very thing we’re using it. Safety Assessment of Ethers and Esters of Ascorbic Acid as Used in Cosmeticsfor in the first place - protecting against photoaging of the skin, the number one cause of skin damage. How we use it, what we are combining it with, the age of the product, the manufacturing process, and more all play a role in the process, and we should really take heed.

Enter Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate - A stable, non-irritating, bio-available vitamin C ester with high antioxidant activity. Not only has this form of Vitamin C proven to support collagen production and help to minimize the effects of environmental aging while promoting a brighter, more luminous skin tone, but it is also highly resistant to the dreaded lipid oxidation we see in ascorbic acid (Safety Assessment of Ethers and Esters of Ascorbic Acid as Used in Cosmetics)

FOR BEST RESULTS:

It is vital that we know what oils do for our skin, and what they do not, so we can use them to their best advantage!

Face oils are emollient and occlusive. They offer many benefits to support healthy-aging.

Oils seal in dermal moisture already present in the skin. preventing evaporation of water from the skin’s surface and also by strengthen the outer layer of our skin. They do not provide hydration or moisture all on their own so they can not “hydrate or moisturize” your skin. They need help to do that.

Facial oils perform the best when applied to damp skin.  A light oil like this, when applied to damp skin, massaged and allowed to air dry will soak in quickly and not leave a residue. Oils are best when applied last, since they work to seal in moisture. So, if you add a moisture rich lotion or cream afterwards, meaning on top of the oils, they will block absorption of the water based ingredients in the lotion or cream, preventing them from penetrating.

DETAILS:

  • For best results with facial oils, gently massage a generous amount (5-10 drops) into damp skin and allow to air dry. You can add dermal moisture by spritzing first with my Hydrosol Toner and Skin Tonic.

  • Or, you can also add some drops to your favorite lotion or cream at night for extra nourishment and conditioning.

  • Or, apply your oils last, after your serum, lotion/cream to help seal in the moisture.

WHY FRESTH MATTERS, A LOT!

Very briefly, industrial processing of food creates rancidity in oils due to heat, light, and oxygen, as well as high pressure and extrusion. This is contributing to the widespread increase in disease.

Industrial production of skin care does the same damage and contributes to disease processes on the surface of our skin. I can not stress enough how important freshness is to skin health! We treat our skincare like condiments! We must stop doing this!

These are handmade, small batch, artisanal products.

Minor variation from batch to batch can be expected. Handle with care; keep the lid on tight, avoid contamination with water and USE IT UP! We tend to keep things longer than we should.

ROSE PETAL + ROSEHIP INFUSED FACIAL OIL SERUM — I recently gave this as a “new mama” gift. After a few days, my friends told me that every morning when she puts it on she feels like she’s doing something above and beyond just for her. She said to me, “it feels luxurious and decadent, but also deeply nourishing. And I LOVE how it feels and smells!”
