HAND WASHING: Toss the synthetic, antibacterial soap and make the move to real soap for the whole family. Those chemicals in antibacterial soap are unnecessary. Thorough washing with true soap is all you need to clean your hands, if you’re using my soap you’re conditioning them at the same time.
BODY WASH: This formula creates a mild soap, an excellent choice for sensitive skin. Choose my Lavender Dreams (formerly Oh Baby).
FOR BABIES: I wish every new baby was bathed with my Lavender Dreams. Scroll down to learn more about WHY real soap matters … studies prove it’s the foundation of healthy skin. Avoid perfumed “Baby Wash”.
DILUTE AND USE IN A FOAMING SOAP DISPENSER: Add a foaming dispenser from the drop down menu. I also have a selection of glass and aluminum foamer bottles in my boutique here in Crested Butte which I can add to your order. Please reach out to me for pictures and pricing. Or purchase one from a local retailer or online.
The nature of my artisan soap; a rare luxury based on an ancient soap once available only to the rich, elite and royalty.
Not all liquid oil soap (aka “castile”) is made equal. Choice of oils used to create the soap are of the utmost importance. Today, there are thousands of vegetable oils to choose from for soap making. Some oils, when saponified, make a harsh soap, while others make mild, conditioning soaps.
An artisan soap made from olive fruit oil and the pressed oil from the seed of the hemp plant, creates a luxurious, emollient soap much like the fine artisan soap once produced by secretive soap guilds in ancient Spain. My castile is based on these ancient recipes, it is a fine artisan soap which will actually improve skin function in the long run.
What’s this soap made from? Plants!
Organic Virgin Cold Pressed Olive Oil: the top pick for for a super conditioning soap and the foundation of true castile.
Organic Unrefined Hemp Seed Oil: very similar properties to Olive Oil when used to make soap, This oil is the pressed from the see of the hemp plant and is not from the marijuana plant.
Castor Oil: brings exceptional cleansing properties, just a little is needed.
Coconut oil; just a tiny bit for cleansing properties and bubbles.
Essential oil enhanced: scroll down to see all the scented options
Plant extracts; infused glycerites bring extra conditioning and some natural color.
Have you tried commercial castile from the store? Keep reading!
The vast majority of us looking for natural soap try commercial liquid castile at some point in their lives. If you did, you probably discovered that your skin becoming irritated, dry, itchy, flaky, tight? There’s a reason for that!
Some oils make a deeply conditioning, skin nourishing soap! While some oils make a extremely harsh soaps that will damage your skin! It has to do with the chemistry of the oils used to create that soap: Commercial liquid castile soaps are made almost entirely from coconut oil, and this matters A LOT!
A little known FACT: coconut oil saponified to make soap is incredibly harsh!! It performs ok for household chores (sort of) - but beware! It’s mostly likely going to cause problems for your skin. I can almost guarantee it (do not use on babies). It’s actually shocking to me that these commercial castile soaps are advertised as suitable for our skin when they are NOT!
Does this soap create bubbles? Foam? Lather?
This is REAL real soap created through the saponification of a blend of plant oils. And while this blend of oils makes a true soap which is super mild, yet effective, with deeply nourishing properties, it will not bubble up when used in a non-foaming dispenser.
When used as suggested in a foaming dispenser, air is added as you pump, resulting in a nice big pile of foamy soap to wash with! So YES, it will provide you with the lather we all love!
It is important to know that how much your soap bubbles and lathers has NOTHING TO DO with how well it cleans, we’ve just come to expect that from soap. Most of the liquid soap you are familiar with is not soap at all, but a complex blend of synthetic, foaming detergents! We call them soap, but they are not soap - THIS is REAL SOAP!
HOW TO USE:
This soap should be diluted. Mix roughly 1 part soap to 3 parts water in your dispenser. This soap is effective at much higher dilutions too, but as you add more water you reduce the foam and the aroma.
You can make this soap stronger by under diluting too for thicker soap and more foam try 1:1 or 1:2. However, for sensitive skin and kids, I suggest you over dilute a little, so about 1 part soap to 4 parts water or more.
FOR HAND WASHING
Suffering from really chapped, parched skin? Your choice of hand soap matters … a lot.
Oil soaps are real soap, proven to reduce the chance of developing persistent dryness and skin damage caused by “soap-like” detergents. These “soap-like” products are called “soap” - but they are not soap; they are synthetic detergents often made from petroleum-based surfactants. They DO NOT get your hands any cleaner than real soap and often include toxic, antibacterial ingredients. They’re shown not to do a better job than old fashion real soap, but they can, and do, often cause skin damage in the long run.
FOR BATH AND BODY
Those who do not use a loofah, sponge, or washcloth will enjoy this soap. If you do prefer to use a loofah, sponge, or washcloth you might not love this soap, it won’t have the persistent bubble you crave. (You might want to choose my artisan bar soaps instead since they offer big bubbles and lasting lather you crave.)
Sensitive skin, babies & kids?
LAVENDER DREAMS (was OH BABY) is an excellent choice for bath and body for those who have very sensitive skin, babies and kids.
To help support the healthy development of baby’s skin organ, I strongly encourage you to choose real soap (NOT DR. BRONNERS or Baby Wash!) Choose Lavender Dreams (formerly Oh Baby) from the drop down menu. Also a great choice for gifting to new mom’s.

GLYCERIN CONTENT ..
Glycerin is naturally present in our skin; glycerin is a Natural Moisture Factor. Glycerin is naturally created when making real soap, it’s a byproduct of saponification. All handcrafted oil soaps retain their natural glycerin.
Vegetable glycerin is entirely safe and non-toxic and has been well-studied for decades. Extracted and purified, it’s renown for it’s ability to condition and nourish our skin! Glycerin is one of the most effective humectants in skincare and is naturally present in the cells of every plant and animal. You might read that glycerin is toxic - this is flat out wrong - so much misinformation out there! Vegetable glycerin is entirely safe, it is NOT a toxic chemical. End of story!
What do I mean by “Plant Extracts”: To each variety of my liquid soaps, I add some glycerites infused with flowers and plants! These add extra conditioning, and some natural color.
These liquid soaps do not require a preservative and none is used. The shelf life of an unopened bottle is years! Once opened, keep the lid on tight to preserve the essential oil aroma. Do not add water directly to the bottle of concentrated soap.
Once diluted, please use up what is in your dispenser in 2 months. Discard after that. Always rinse the dispenser and pump with hot water between refills. Allow the pump and bottle to dry completely before refilling. Instructions for cleaning and replacing are included with each purchase.
This liquid soap is a handmade, artisan product, made in tiny batches to ensure freshness.
Old fashion liquid soaps are challenging to create and require close attention to details. Expect some variation from batch to batch and some separation; shake the bottle well before diluting.
