Steam-distilled Hydrosol waters are one of our most ancient herbal preparations and have been in use for at least 5000 years.

This hydrosol is distilled from wild roses, witch hazel, plantago major, helichrysum and calendula, all renowned for their healing and soothing properties.
A few spritzes of my special hydrosol function brilliantly as a toner (resetting the skin’s optimal pH) and provide an extra shot of moisture which helps increase dermal hydration. The aroma of a hydrosol will vary a bit from batch to batch due to the natural variability of the plants used. My hydrosol is made with half rose petals which imparts a true rose aroma. The light rosy scent is the most noticeable.

Preserving natural skin care: digging deeper.
Buyer Beware - in an effort to use more natural preservatives in products that contain water (such as hydrosols) many small batch creators of artisanal skin care products such as apothecaries turn to ethyl alcohol such as Ever Clear and Vodka - these are somewhat effective at their job and do preserve a product for a short period of time - but come at a high cost - the se are drying alcohols and they will damage the skin over time - pretty much the opposite of what we desire!
Hydrosol waters must be preserved at the date of manufacture! They are fragile and contain plant compounds. There are serious risks associated with perishable, non-preserved water based products. without a broad spectrum preservative, they quickly become contaminated with mold and bacteria, which pose health risks..
A safe, ECOCERT preservative with skin conditioning properties is far superior to the risks associated with non-preserved products.:
